Minnesota Babies

Recommend your midwife.

We live in Como Park(ST. Paul) and it would be nice to have someone close but, driving a bit would be okay too.  I want someone who delivers in a hospital.  We are very close to Children's but, I don't know if they have midwives. We are also close to the UofMN.

TIA

Re: Recommend your midwife.

  • Health East Midwives are great. They have offices in St. Paul and deliver at St. Joseph's in St. Paul as well as St. John's in Maplewood and Woodwinds in Woodbury. They also have a program called "Meet the Midwives" coming up in Novemeber.

     Visit healtheast.org for further information.

    Hope this helps

  • I see Monica at the Health Partners in St. Paul.  She delivers at Regions.  She is really great.

This.  Plus I'll quote myself from a thread from a few months ago, the only one of my many, many raves about HealthEast that I can seem to find right now:

    imagerapunzelchick:
I see the midwives at HealthEast Macalester Groveland Clinic on Snelling Ave. in St. Paul.  The clinic is moving to Grand Ave. sometime this winter.  I have raved and raved about them and St. Joseph's, where they deliver, all over this board  - sorry, I can't seem to find the posts with the search function.  They do have a "Meet the Midwives" night a few times a year, which I recommend.  (Only a slight error in the first response...you will deliver with which ever HealthEast midwife is on call from any of the clinics, not necessarily one from your specific clinic.  In fact the midwife who delivered DD only does deliveries, she doesn't practice at any clinic.  There aren't enough words to describe how awesome she was!)  Anyway, I really like HealthEast's philosophy in general.  My regular family physician for the past 12 years has been at that clinic and now DD goes to her as well.  We also really liked their various pre-natal classes...we took Hypnobirthing, breastfeeding and caring for your newborn.

I'd be happy to answer any questions about my experiences with them.  I'm a big fan!

  • Fairview Riverside Midwives. Our delivery midwife was John Eads and he was awesome. We loved him, he did such a great job.

  • Generations Womens Health Center in Shoreview. Smaller clinic so you are guaranteed that you will have one of the four midwives with you during L & D.
