LO throwing up after eating?

Hi,

I'm new to this board and was just wondering if anyone else's LO every throws up shortly after eating?  My LO is BF, and has thrown up twice, once last night and then again late this morning, with normal feedings (every 3 hrs) in between. I waited to feed her until the next feeding, even though she was very upset about it, in case she had an upset stomach.

If this has happened to your LO, do you feed her again right away, or wait?  Could it have anything to do with the meds I'm on, for pain and a UTI? Could she be overeating?

 Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated! TIA!

    Is it full on throwing up, or is it spit up? My DS never throws up (like gagging and actually hurling) but he does spit up after every meal. Pedi said he might be overeating or have acid reflux.

    I think this is pretty normal at this age.  My DS did this a few times when he was only a couple of weeks old and he was hungry again right after.  It's just "digestive immaturity" and she'll grow out of it.  It shouldn't happen super often, though, so if you're worried it might be you should definitely call your pediatrician.

    dd was being overfed per ped and was spitting up every feeding- so he had me reduce teh amount she was getting (i was formula feeding) and then she did better, but she still spit up

    nothing projectile tho- just fountain like

    she is on acid reflux meds now bc i also noticed she was arching her back like in pain

    She spits up occasionally, but these last two times where definately vomiting.  It wasn't projectile vomiting, just that almost everything she ate came pouring out.

    Then she looks calm and falls asleep...LOL, until I have to clean her up.

    Not really sure, but a good reminder I got was to remember that it always looks like a lot more than it actually is when it comes up! GL!

    Try burping your LO when they pull off the breast. My LO throws up or spits up (he does both) a few minutes after eating if I don't burp him right away. They say BF babies don't need burping, but sometimes they do, especially if you have a fast letdown.
