Teething symptoms

When your LO started teething, what were some of his/her symptoms?  Eli has started to be a lot more fussy the last week or so.  He's drooling more and getting up several times a night, when he used to be up just once for a bottle.  This morning he woke himself up because his sinuses were congested and he was having trouble breathing.  We put saline drops in his nose and suctioned, which seemed to help and he went back to sleep.  I'm just wondering if this is all related to teething or if he's just changing.  I can't see anything that would look like teeth coming through, but I've never seen a baby's gums when they start teething, so I wouldn't know what I was looking at anyway!  Part of me thinks this might be the 4 month wakeful, but not entirely.

Thanks!

Re: Teething symptoms

  • Our little guy is always stuffy. I have read though that colds sometimes can accompany teething. Finn gets really red cheeks, is crankier, lots of drooling and is chewing on his hands. We bought baby oragel for him. He hates the taste but you can see the relief when it kicks in. If you run your finger along his gums you may feel firmer, nobby spots (not sure how to describe it). and he may really want to chew on you. GL

This!  If you let him pull himself up by holding onto your fingers, the first thing he does now is try to put our fingers in his mouth.

I'll have to check his gums.  Maybe I can feel the nobby spots.  Thanks!
