Poll: What would you do with $10,000?

This stems from a conversation with DH last night...If you received a gift of $10,000 what would you do with it?

DH would use most of it to pay down our mortgage so we could refinance and put the rest of it in savings.

I would put most of it in savings, like a CD or MM account, for education expenses down the road. I'd want about $2,000 to just spend though...on home improvement projects, photography class, a new lawn mower for DH, etc.

I could probably use all the money for home improvement projects....My bathroom needs to be completely gutted and redone, new carpets in 2 bedrooms and a new shed.

We had the same situation and we put half in our "rainy day" savings account and used the other half to make improvements to our home (new burner, windows, insulation, etc).

Not only did these increase our home's value but we also get tax credit for them due to them being energy efficient. Double score!

We'd probably pay off our CC bills, finally carpet our basement, and then buy a new bedroom set for ourselves.

I'd quit my job. Seriously. I have started a business that I know I could grow fast if I had the time for marketing, but I need some sort of bridge money (~3 months of income would do it) to make that happen. $10,000 would do nicely.

Sadly it would pretty much all go towards paying of CC's and a loan. This would help free up a lot of our monthly bills!! I'm sure I would buy DS some things with it too.

Tithe, pay off our cc's, resod our lawn, pay someone to do Lauryn's room, splurge on a pair of maternity jeans at Pea in a Pod and buy that Pottery Barn linear chandelier for the dining room.

put it straight to our savings account. we're trying to save a large amount for a good down payment, and 10,000 would help a lot.. we don't have any debt whatsoever...
