Pregnant after a Loss

*Keep them at home! PLEASE!* (vent)

So today this little boy comes up to me and goes "i don't feel good." i say "okay what hurts?" he says, "well i had a fever last night and my head still hurts."  UUMMMMM, hello people!!! if your child has a fever, don't send them to school!!!! sent him up to the nurse. 101.5.   LOVELY.

If kids are sick, PLEASE keep them at home you know? The rule is that they have to be fever free for 24 hours to be allowed to come back. Sigh. And now I kind of don't feel good. I hope it was just dinner that I ate and not something else coming on....

  • That sucks. A guy that I work with kid had H1N1 and he was better and went to school, got sent to the nurse for a band-aid, the nurse saw on his file had had the flu the week before and sent him and his brother and sister home.

  • I know how you feel! I work at a preschool and I hate it when parents bring there kids in and say, "Mrs. Nicole, "so and so" isn't feeling very well, I think they are coming down with something!" Then and hour later the child has a 101 fever! SERIOUSLY PEOPLE, keep your kids home at ANY signs of not feeling well! That's how germs get spread!

And I"ve already had a kid in my class with a 103.8 fever, later to find that the child had SWINE FLU!

    LOVELY!

  • I'm also a teacher, so I totally understand. I have a class of 11 and I've sent 4 kids home sick already this week. I really don't get why their parents send them to school when they are obviously sick!!

  • Thankfully the parents at my school are pretty good about this, but I totally feel your frustration. I have had parents in past years call me and say "so and so has a fever, but I sent them anyway. if they don't feel good send them to the nurse" WTF??

  • No kidding. I get that it may be inconvenient, but send them to grandmas or something if you (the parent) don't want to miss work!
