Success after IF

I am home - on bed rest but home!

I was released last night after some more blood work and an u/s. Baby is doing good, scored 8 of 8 on the scale, and he is practice breathing. Everything else is checking out fine with me, but I am on 100% bed rest and need to see the doctor 2x a week from here on out.

I will have a NST and an u/s once a week and if ever those show that the baby is not growing or not doing well they will induce me or I will have a c-section (depends on my b/p and the need to get baby out). Our goal right now is 32 weeks - I am 29 right now. My doctor doubts I will make it to term, "but has seen it happen before".

So basically my goal is to keep my b/p down to stay out of the hospital. H is doing great - taking great care of me (he is on vacation this week) When he goes back to work, I will hang at my moms so my step dad can help me.

I find bed rest a lot easier to take with my puppy by my side and a comfortable bed!!! So am glad to be home, for now!

A lot of years and a million tears finally led me to you.
After 7 years trying to concieve, 3 failed IUIs and 2 failed IVFs, my third IVF was a success!
My Christmas baby turned into a turkey bird! Dillon Richard was born at 34 weeks, 5 days on November 28, 2009 after 10 weeks on bedrest for preeclampsia.

  • YEA!!  Glad you are home!  Do you have an official diagnosis - pre-e, kidney issues?  It still sounds somewhat mysterious, which must be frustrating...

At this point officially I am Preeclamptic. My doctor is treating it like pre-E although "he isn't 100% buying it at this point" - I just show no other symptoms except the spilling protein and that is "weird" to him. The kidney doctors said that if it is not pre E and I have stones or a infection or what ever (that they are not seeing on regular u/s but can't do anything else because I am pregnant) that it will not cause harm to the pregnancy and they can deal with it after the baby is born with no further harm to me as well.

So basically we are just waiting to see if when the baby is born it goes away...

Technically, although it is not all that high - 130/60 pm average. I have situational high blood pressure that rises higher at times though (the highest was 170/60) when I am stressed/anxious.

So my doctor is very very cautious and is treating me like I am preeclamptic and this is what he does for all preeclamptic cases....
