Made My DH Cry

I'm just hitting them out of the park lately. We were talking about how all our dates don't really jive with what we saw on the u/s, and I was saying how it just makes it hard to get really attached to the baby.

He got really quiet, and put his hand on my belly. And when I looked up his eyes were full of tears, he had this hurt look on his face and he said, really quietly, "I'm pretty attached already."

Good job, Allison. Way to be a total a$$ to your amazing and supportive husband. I need a time out.

    Oh my god, that just made my eyes instantaneously fill up with tears... I totally am struggling with BOTH of your emotions...

    Wow... sorry your DH is married to such a hag... Totally Kidding!!! That's sweet that he's so attached already!

    OK, I can tell that these dates have you totally whacked out. If it makes you feel ANY better, mine don't make a lick of sense either. At our first u/s, if we were going my LMP, we were measuring a week behind, if we're measuring based on O date we were behind and if we were measuring based on our after O sex that happened 3 days AFTER O according to my chart, LO was measuring way ahead. That last one probably doesn't help, but, those measurements mean so little at that stage of the game. Baby could be turned funny, or too wiggly to get a good measurement or could just be a small baby.

    I understand the not wanting to get attached thing. I think it took me till about 18 weeks to really feel attached, and there are still days when I'm like "what, there's really a baby in me?"

    It will come, and you just might get a teeny little one!

    Mine is the same way. He hates me when I say stuff like that, but I just can?t help it.

    You made my eyes well up too.  These damn pregnancy hormones.  Your DH sounds like a real sweetie.

    I think this is sweet story- and I don't think you should feel bad.  It's good you are both talking about feelings like this.

     My u/s dates that early didn't match my "dates" either-

    Well now I'm crying too. I'm sorry you're having a rough time. I know it's dang near impossible, but try not to stress over your dates too much. There are so many factors that could have come into play (e.g. late implantation). You may never know when it occured, but today you are pregnant and you love your baby. That's all that matters right now. Hang in there. I'll keep you and your LO in my prayers. Hope to hear some great news from you soon.
