Try meetup.com and there are groups all over the metro area. I've gone to a few East Cobb groups and met some nice moms.
The moms on this board have get togethers sometimes. I don't get to go to them because I work outside the home fulltime but they always sound like fun. Very supportive group.
I also signed up for a few mom groups on Meetup.com. I haven't had a chance to go to any of the GTG's yet, but they do a lot of different activities for kids of all different ages.
I don't know if you BF or not, but Northside has a free Mom & Me group - one meets in Alpharetta, the other is in Dunwoody. It's run by an LC and everyone is so wonderful...they have a yahoogroup as well...northside_moms.

Kennestone has a new mommy group that is free and meets weekly. I really enjoyed it. We met at a room in the hospital that had rockers and plenty of room for the babies too. Check out class registration on their website or call to sign up.
