i have it ... are you bleeding? is it complete or partial? did the dr indicate if they think it will move or not? are you having a follow up u/s? and the worst case is it doesn't move and you need a c-section
I have complete placenta previa which isn't moving so will have a c/s at 37wks or sooner if I hemorrhage. You'd have better luck finding success stories on 3rd tri of people whose previa 'moved'. Good luck, they say something like 90% of previas move so your odds are good if you don't have complete previa.
I had complete previa during my 3rd pg, and was given a less then 25% chance of it moving out of the way enough for a vaginal birth. By 28 wks, it had moved, and after having it checked again a few wks later, I was cleared for a vaginal birth. I had a little more bleeding after delivery than I had the first 2 times, and that required a bag of Pitocin, but other than that, a nuchal cord x3, and precipitous labor, everything went very smoothly- no bleeding episodes during pg, either! Good luck!
i had complete previa and i also had no bleeding ... it moved very little i have another u/s on the 27th and one more after that ... but i will be having a c-section due to this ... there is like a 10% chance it will move or some redicously low number like that ... keep us updated!
I have had no bleeding at all. I go back at 30 weeks for an ultrasound.
Thank you for all your comments. This is my 1st pregancy and was just a little freaked out.
There's nothing that causes these things, and nothing but time and luck that fixes them, but the odds are HUGELY in your favor. Hang in there for the 30 week scan and try not to worry too much.
But yes, they do lead to freaking out. I had previa (not a nice, resolving one, sadly), and it sucked. I would mostly say, don't be discussing delivery plans until the 30 week scan, unless you have a bleed. And take it easy as much as you can, because abdominal strain can cause bleeds, which cause hospital bed rest, which is a giant PITA.
Re: Anyone else have Placenta Previa?
i had one. diagnosed at 20w, had 2 very small bleeds, one medium bleed, adn a signficant bleed the day DS was born at 32w6d.
most of them resovle or don't cause any problems. just make sure to take it easy and follow your drs instructions! good luck!
