I wanted to introduce myself as I am a regular lurker on this board. I use the NOrthern california board a lot more. Anyway, I am 39 1/2 and ttc#2. I am now at the point of trying to chart and have no clue what I am doing. I can keep my temperature as directed but do not know what I am looking for in that. Any feedback you guys have is great. Just wanted to say hi since I may post or answer posts every so often.

Re: Hey there introducing to this board
Hi there and welcome!
You've done this before so you might have already read this book, but if not I highly recommend 'Taking Charge of Your Ferility'. It's very informative and I learned a lot about the way my body works.
Also use www.fertilityfriend.com this website is a great tool for charting temps, CM (cervical mucus- if you do that) and other 'symptoms' your body goes through each month before, during, and after ovulation. Once you have charted your temps for a couple months you will, hopefully, start to see a pattern that your body goes through and will (again, hopefully) start to be able to tell when you will ovulate which will help you determine the best times to conceive.
Other than, that you can always come to this board, you will learn a lot here and everyone is really great!!
Hello (DD is a cutie!)
Like a pp said, read TCOYF and try charting on fertility friend.
Hi there and welcome! It does take a bit to get used to charting, but once you get the hang of it it is quite easy.
Mostly, you'll have to temp for a while to start to get a feel for your cycle, and reading the tutorials helps alot.
GL and welcome again!
Hello and welcome......GL TTC #2!
I got TCOYF (Taking Charge of Your Fertility). If you order the book through Amazon, you get the computer software too. That way you can log everything on the computer. Makes it easier to see patterns, etc.
First off, every woman is slightly different! Through charting you should begin to see a pattern.
The "typical" pattern starts at the beginning of your cycle with your period. During that time, your temps will be on the lower end. After you ovulate (the day after), your temp will go up. It should stay up until you have your period again. Simple, huh?
I know for me, I noticed that my temp drops a 1-2 days before I ovulate. It will get even lower. Not everyone gets that though.
The temp changes aren't huge either. For example, your average temp from your period until ovulation could be 97.5. Then your average temp after ovulation until the start of your next cycle could be 97.9.
Hope that helps.
