  • Ours is mainly from our wedding and some misc. stuff. We're bad we just kept spending. We don't use credit cards now so we can get them paid off.

  • I hadn't done one either, I set it up and my phone wouldn't let me post it. So thanks again

  • We have way over $20 grand in student loans, but no other debt besides our home.

  • All the credit cards were paid off before DS arrived (I was stupid in college and maxed a few out).  Now all I have left is about $800 in student loans.

    DH has no debt.

We have credit cards but only use them for discounts/points.  We pay them off as soon as we get home or before the cycle is up.  We pay no interest that way, so it's just like using a debit account, but better.

If we can't afford it at the time, we don't get it.  It's hard to go from that instant gratification to saving up, but I'm not so stressed about paying bills now.

ETA:  You'd be surprised how big of a response you'd get if you added values much higher.  Somebody once did this in 3rd tri and some of them were pretty high.  I know people whose schooling cost them $60,000 a year, so this is a pretty low poll.

  • hmm let's see...no credit cards, no car payment, just about $150,000 in student loans between DH and I.

    nice, huh.

  • No credit cards, but we have WAY over 20K in student loans. My DH and I each have three degrees and while his PhD was paid for, mine was not. Combined, we have just about 150k. Thankfully, my employer is offering some repayment.

Absolutely.  I have friends over $200,000 in debt because of prof. school loans.  Ouch.

  • Our only debt is about 8K in student loans, 9K in car loan, and our mortgage.
  • Mine is over $20k
  • We mainly owe in student loans. School ain't cheap.

    Word.

I have about $1500 left in credit card debt that'll be paid when I get my paycheck on Friday.

But I have a $50k balance on my student loans.

  • My student loan alone is greater than $20K, DH has no student loans (since he's in school now and work is paying 100%).  We also have pretty much credit card debt and now hospital bills we're trying to pay down.

  • Big SmileAgree on student loans. I think we should take that out of the poll to make me feel better about our debt. Although, I am down to under $10K now.
