This was my first time watching the show, but I just had to see the big debate.
I found him to be kind of annoying and I don't think the title of the show accurately described what it would be about. It was supposed to be SAHM vs. WM, but it really wasn't. There was one outspoken SAHM who talked about how selfish WMs are, but the rest of the show pretty much focused on finding good daycare, and how to not feel badly about leaving your kids to go to work. He even brought out some single moms that work on his show (producers and an attorney), but they have to work, and they didn't seem to have much of an opinion on it. There was a whole group of SAHMs who didn't even get a chance to speak, and it certainly wasn't a debate or even a discussion, IMO.
And to think I wasted precious nap time today watching this. I don't think I'll be tuning in to Dr. Phil again. :-)
Re: Did anyone watch Dr. Phil?
I agree with that 100 percent!!!! Of course he had to open up with the statistics of daycare children and how much smarter they are. So there are no statistics towards kids that have SAHM's?!?!?!
Also disappointed and I think his "statistics" were really annoying and biased.
I also think there is a difference between a part time working mom who is home before and after school, for example and a working mom who is gone 7-7 and the child is in after school and before school care, for example. It seemed as though the working moms on the show were PT workers or had flexible enough jobs that they could do more at home/school functions, etc. I don't think most working moms truly have that much flexibility.
I was looking forward to a good show and was disappointed for sure.
I agree. There were several pt working moms, and one only worked while her kids were in school (I think she said 10-3). That sounds like an amazing schedule, and I don't consider her to be a working mom in the sense that she leaves her children all day long to work. She's with them when they're home! When my kid(s) are in school full-time in the future I would love to have a schedule like that.
Yes, I saw it. It was definitely slanted in favor of WOHM's, which is fine to say you're a WOHM if that's what you want, but they used one SAHM spokesperson versus letting the other SAHM's speak.
Also, they used single WOHM's who work PART-TIME. Single WOHM's pretty much have to work and I don't consider part-time workers to be WOHM's (which are typically moms who work 40 hours outside the home).
The show was pointless.
