What stroller are you getting?

I have been looking at strollers and travel systems, etc for our first child! I am new to all baby equipment, so was wondering what you girls have decided on and what you would recommend? Thanks for your help:)

Re: What stroller are you getting?

  • We registered for the Chicco Cortina travel system.  We LOVED how the stroller handled.

  • Just bought the bugaboo cameleon and the BOB revolution.

  • Graco Quattro Hamilton I think it's called....
    Due October 29
  • We're using the Bumbleride Indie (YAY craigslist!) and are forgoing the baby bucket in favor of slings/carriers.

DEFINITELY check Craigslist. Our stroller is so new that the tires still have the little nubby things on them. They sold it because when baby #1 was about 6 months old they found out mommy was pregnant with baby #2 so they needed to trade up to a double. :-D

  • I got a great deal on the britax travel system.  I should have tried it for myself, but I went of recomendations.  It was too good of a deal to turn down.

  • We got the bugaboo frog for DD #1 & will be getting a boogie/buggy board thing so she can stand and ride w/ baby #2.

I loved the bassinet attachment- we used that for the first 6 months- I was not a fan of DD being in her car seat if she wasn't in the car- we did get the car seat adaptor but probably only used that like 6 times or so.  The bassinet was also great for traveling @ that age.

I really only wanted 1 stroller that would last through multiple children, so we splurged- we did get a floor model, so there was a discount, but still it's been a great investment.

We made the mistake of traveling w/ a cheap umbrella stroller once and DH wouldn't even bring it home - we left it in the hotel.

  • Right now for my DD, my main stroller is a Bugaboo frog.  I've bought the wheeled board to make it into a sit and stand type get up.

I also have the Chicco capri for my umbrella stroller. I would not recommend it at all.

We have the jeep jogger which is nice for jogs/light runs.

We used a snap n go in the beginning as well (on top of putting my DD in the bassinet portion of the frog).  This was the best!

Our infant seat is the snugride.  I was never into the whole travel system thing.  I just don't like the looks of the strollers that go with them, and have heard terrible things about how heavy they are, difficult to push and steer, etc.

    Peg Perego Aria.

DH absolutely put his foot down to a snap n go so I needed something that I could snap the infant seat into but was still light. This one has all the features I wanted in a stroller and only weighs 9 pounds. My sister has one and I think it's a great stroller.

I put this one on my registry:

    Maclaren Quest

  • I'm going with the uppababy vista (2010) ... love that stroller ... why? In my blog ...

  • We're using the Graco Snap n Go with the SnugRide for infant, then we'll upgrade to the MacLaren Triumph - it's light and easy to fold and unfold!

  • We registered for the Graco Quattro Hamilton too... I saw someone post that above.

  • Graco quattro tour travel system with the SnugRide 32 - went with travel system because I like snapping the infant car seat into the stroller, liked the Graco design better than Chicco, live in the suburbs where a big stroller isn't an issue, have room in my car, and don't mind it's weight.

But, I am also getting the Chicco Liteway stroller for when DD is out of the infant seat and I want a smaller umbrella-like stroller.  The Chicco Liteway is similar in design and quality as a Maclaren Quest but is about half the price.

  • We bought the Mountain Buggy Urban over the weekend:

It came down to this or Phil and Ted's Vibe.  We also considered the Quinny Buzz and the Bugaboo Frog, because we wanted something very rugged and versatile and these 4 models fit the bill.  I second the pp's suggestion and highly recommend you check out Baby Bargains, as it breaks down strollers by your lifestyle/needs.  The stroller was one of the most overwhelming baby purchases, IMO, and this definitely helped me make an informed decision.  HTH!

  • We registered for the Graco Mosaic Stroller in lemon grass and the matching infant seat.  This way we can have a light weight stroller that the infant carrier can still attach to the stroller while she is really little.

  • With DS, we went with a Snugrider (Graco version of the snap n go) and the infant seat.  We bought a Bumbleride Indie for when he outgrew that (love it!).  For two, we're going with Phil & Ted's with a doubles kit.  The best advice I got was to go with the frame for the infant carrier at first, and then buy the real stroller after the baby was here and you had a chance to get a feel for what you want/don't want.  I never would have considered the Bumbleride while pregnant -- but it ended up being just what I needed (and I only realized what I needed after the baby was here).

  • We got the Chicco Cortina system as well.

  • Peg Perego Skate for DS #2.
  • We're getting the Bob Revolution 12", and will use it with the Graco infant carseat for the first months. I didn't want a travel system and did quite a bit of research on jogging strollers, the Bob seems to fit all of our needs.

  • I love my Maclaren Quest.

I had a Peg Perego Aria and it was a complete POS.

  • BabyTrend Snap N Go frame to go with our Chicco KeyFit 30 carseat.  Will wait on a proper stroller until DS is here.

  • We are going with the snugrider and matching carseat. It's lightweight, has good safety reviews and simple. The travel systems were sooo heavy for me and killed my back. The book Baby Bargins talks highly of the snugrider and snap and go. By the time the baby is 1 or maybe a little sooner we will need to upgrade but by then we will know what we really want in a stroller.  As a new mom I have been overwhelmed with the stroller issue so we think this is a great solution for now!
  • We got the Britax Chaperone travel system. It's pretty awesome.
  • Bugaboo Frog

  • We debated between the bugaboo frog and the BOB revolution 12''....after much thought, we went with the bob revolution 12''....we are very active so it seems to be the best fit for us.  We ordered it over the weekend; it was our first big purchase!
  • Baby Jogger City Mini.  We got a Britax Chaperone carseat, so we are going to get a Snap and Go for the first few months.

I think this is what we are doing too. Just need to get DH to decide on the car seat. He is torn between the Chicco and the Graco Snugride.

  • We debated between the Bumbleride Indie and BOB Revolution 12".  Ultimately decided on the BOB because of price, weight limits, size, and ease of use.
