First appointment with midwife and Ultrasound!

So excited! We had our first appointment with the midwife today. I really liked her and the nurse and we got a suprise ultrasound! Yea! So fun to see the little baby and hear the heartbeat! I am having another ultrasound next week to date the pregnancy...the one today was just a quick in-office scan! I am thrilled to get to have two sneak-peaks so early on!

Weird that they couldn't date it today. I went in at 8wks 4d and they could date it. Hmm. lol
We just had ours too! (Well, we had a quick one with just the u/s tech to do dating). The heart rate was in the 160s and everything else went great.
They want to send us to a genetic specialist for Level 2 ultrasound (FIL had a twin who died of spina bifida) at 16 weeks. I just spent a good hour of my life on the phone with insurance to find out that they need more info, argh!! Do these people realize that I don't fluently speak insurance-ease? (Yet)
The midwife said before she even turned on the machine that this one would just be for "fun" but that she wanted me to get an official one for measurements. She said she never does the "measurement" ones and the U/S tech is not in the office on Wednesdays.
