I supplement a few bottles at night. Is it ok to add a little BM to DDs formula bottles? In my mind I figure it gives her a little more antibodies but this could be completely false. I ask bc I am thinking of cutting down my pumping time so that she wont have full bottles of BM but formula and a little BM. We cant use powder so mixing it with BM (which Ive heard of) is out..TIA!
Re: Is it ok to add BM to RTF formula bottles?
The only risk with mixing formula and breastmilk is that if DD doesn't finish the bottle, you will be essentially wasting your milk.
DS eats around 6-7 oz's at every bottle. I give 5 oz's of BM so as not to waste it and then supplement with 2 oz's of Alimentum. He doesn't always finish the Alimentum but I value my BM over the formula, even if it is so damn expensive!
