Twin Bed in Nursery...

DH and I are putting a twin bed in our nursery since the nursery is a floor below our bedroom and we will have a place to crash if we need to when getting the baby to sleep.

Also, we just moved when we found out we were pregnant and it's a 2 bedroom condo and the nursery would be the only place to put a bed for when guests come to visit. We figure LO can just sleep with us when people come since we have the pack n play.

What do you think? Is anyone else doing this?

Re: Twin Bed in Nursery...

  • We will also have a twin bed in the nursery.  I will be decorating it like a daybed so that it will be a nice place to lounge and sleep when necessary.

  • Should we get pg while we are still in our townhouse, our second bedroom would double as a guestroom with a full size bed.  I think it's fine!

  • We have one.  The nursery is on the 2nd floor, and our master bedroom is on the first.  We don't live in a big house... it's literally 13 steps from our door to his, so it's not huge deal.  But his room is huge and I needed to put more furniture in it so it didn't look so empty.  And it'll serve as extra space if my mom stays over, or if I kick my husband out of bed for snoring ;)

  • We're doing something similar! We live in a two-bedroom house and we're turning the office/guestroom into a nursery/guestroom. We haven't quite decided if we'll do a daybed or a sofabed, but either way it will be nice to have a place to crash if need be.

We weren't expecting to have a baby while living here. We live in a townhouse as well. It's one with 2 master bedrooms. We have a queen in each room, and also one in storage. We have to keep it in the baby's room, so we have a place for visitors to stay. I know it's not necessarily ideal, but it will also be a good place for us to sleep the first month or so while the baby gets accustomed to sleeping in it's CRIB. (or at least that's the plan)

  • We will have a twin bed in the nursery.  I think it is a great idea.

  • We are not doing this, but I did have a friend who did it and used that bed a lot when her first baby was little. She sometimes ended up taking naps in there with her DD in the crib just because it was a closer bed than going back to her bedroom. I think it is a good idea especially with the nursery not on the same floor as your room.

  • That was my original plan, but I have changed my mind and sold the bed.  I just ended up realizing that the room was too small to put another bed in.  I can totally see where you are coming from though!
  • WE have a dbl bed in our nursery and are planning on keeping it that way for awhile.
