Yes, boring (and much hated question), but we're fully on whole milk now, and I'm not sure at this point how much to give. Do I still give her 24 ounces like I was with the formula or much less and give her additional liquids like water?
At DD's 12 month appt, the pedi said she should drink 16-24 oz of milk. She also gets some juice and water throughout the day. Oh and I also give her Tri-vol-sol drops for additional vitamin D.
Uh oh. I think I've been giving DD too much. She gets almost 30 a day. For once in her life she is getting more instead of less. She doesn't eat her table food that well so I just assume thats ok. I'll ask the ped at her 15 month appointment Saturday.
DD is lucky to get 2 oz. She is not on board with milk. We make up the difference with a lot of cheese and yogurt, broccoli, D fortified cereals, sunlight, and pinto beans for now.
Re: How much whole milk/day?
We give DS milk at all 3 meals and water the rest of the day. When we had first started, we also gave him another cup of milk in the evening.
No more than 24oz a day. 16-20 is ideal. It can interfer with iron absorbiton.
