When rocking your LO, etc, what do you sing?
DH doesn't know any nursery rhymes, so whenever he sings to the baby, he sings "your daddy loves you" over and over to the tune of Santa Claus is Coming to Town. It's very cute... but boring. LOL!
I know a few nursery rhymes, but I usually stick to country songs for some reason.
Re: Non-Clicky Poll: Singing to your LO
I sing the "Skye boat song" & DH sings "Little peter rabbit".
When I rock him to sleep, I normally sing hush little baby don't you cry, momma's gonna buy you...since I don't know the words, I tend to buy him watever I think of, hockey stick, ipod, tv, toys, you name it.
When we are playing, I sing the wheels on the bus (and do actions with his feet), the ants go marching, the grand ole duke of york (bring him up and down), twinkle twinkle little star, the hokey pokey and a few others I can't think of right now.
DH and I both sing "Hey Jude" by the Beatles. We sung it to her in the womb too.
Oh, and when she's acting really hungry and I'm getting the boob out to feed her, DH sometimes sings "All the single ladies" But with the words: "If you like it then you better put a boob in it, If you like it then you better put a boob in it."
I don't sing when I'm putting him to bed...it keeps him more awake.
But when I'm changing him, playing, etc...I will sing ABC's (he really likes that one), country songs, twinkle twinkle, itsy bitsy spider...um...that's about it.
Jesus loves you, you are my sunshine, godspeed by the dixie chicks, and a lot of diana ross and the supremes, for some reason. When we play, it could be anything, but he really likes patty cake.
Proud mama to a boys- 6/17/09 - a girl 2/23/11- and a boy 8/20/12
He really seems to like Sugar Magnolia by the Grateful Dead, so that's what I sing for him the most.
