Miscarriage/Pregnancy Loss

Clicky poll: your input is needed

For those who don't know, October 15th is Pregnancy and Infant Loss Awareness day. I had no clue such a day even existed until I had my loss in May. The idea behind it is simple enough; to raise awareness and to remember the little ones lost by lighting a candle at 7pm.

I was thinking of putting a little ad in the "In Memoriam" section of the newspaper simply saying:

October 15, Pregnancy and
Infant Loss Awareness Day
We light our candles at 7 pm
In memory of all the little ones
who left too soon
And to comfort all those who
were left behind

But it's going to cost about $30... i don't mind paying for it, but is it even worth it? no one reads that section anyway... but at the same time, it's an important cause to me. what do you think?

  • Even if no one reads it, you will.  You can always cut it out of the paper and put it in a scrapbook or a place where you can look at it later.  If it is important enough for you to do the research on how to place the ad, then I say go for it.

  • I voted yes.  Even if nobody reads it but you I still thinkit is money well spent.  Because it is for you.  I also think more people might read that section than you think...
  • i voted yes, you never know what one woman will read that who didn't know about tomorrow and find some comfort in lighting a candle for her loss.

i didn't even think of that... at the begining of the month i did write to the letter of the editor of the newspaper as well as to an advice column about it being pregnancy loss and awareness month, as well as october 15th.

i've been ignored thus far. it wasn't until i thought of the ad-- which i have to pay for-- that i've gotten any feedback. *insert angry face here*
