Need Adult Birthday Ideas!

So my husband and I are both turning 30 this year, and only a month apart, so we are thinking of doing a joint bday party. We are going on a vacation to celebrate (just the two of us), but our friends want to celebrate too. (they all did something for their 30 too).

One idea was going to a winery and having dinner, but not sure if that is the right scene. I thought about doing a limo wine tour too, I just don't want people to have to pay alot.

Another idea is to just have a party here, maybe have it catered but that could get expensive.

I was thinking of doing a wine and cupcake party, but you still have to have food, so again, lots of work. (i may end up doing this anyway).

I guess I am just looking for suggestions. Anyone have any great ideas, or had an awesome birthday that they loved?

Have guest each bring a bottle or 2 of wine to try, and you get a bunch of cheeses and fruits for the tasting. It's a lot easier to make a cheese plate than a dinner!

My friends and I enjoy having covered dish parties. Everyone makes a part of the meal and brings it with them, that way its not a lot of work for anyone and its very inexpensive. Good luck and happy 30th!

We had DH's 30th birthday at a bar. We paid a flat fee for drinks all night and got a few appetizers. We had our own room with pool tables, dart boards, and music fed in from the DJ out front. It was so much fun. Most of our friends came (who could resist free alcohol all night). The one error I made was that I had the party waaay too early! Most of our friends are still single, or at least childless. I forgot that single people do not go out to parties at 8pm
