Does anyone have a mid-wife? I have heard that they are good to have and was given a good recommendation for one if I wanted to hire one. Any input would be greatly appreciated.
I do, but i'm having my baby at home with a LM (licensed midwife) and you're probably thinking about a nurse midwife who works at a hospital. Do the research, though, and you might want to look into a home birth too--it is amazing how much americans don't realize about the benefits of home birth and the opposing risks of hospital births!
either way, getting a midwife is a good choice no matter where you choose to have your baby! They are trained much more in "normal" births whereas OBs tend to intervene more.
