Babies: 0 - 3 Months

When did your baby sleep through the night?

At what age did your baby start to sleep through the night? and by the night I mean at least 4 hours!? My baby is two weeks old and sleeps all day and is up all night...I know this is normal for little ones and I was just trying to look forward to when I could finally get some sleep and was wondering when that lucky day would come?! three months? 4 months?

Re: When did your baby sleep through the night?

  • DD started sleeping  5-7 consecutive hours at around 6 weeks. It gets better, just hang in there!

  • Ellie already does she goes bout 4 to 4 1/2 hours at night between feedings. Usually about 3 to 4 am is when she switches back to every 3 hours.
  • at around 7 weeks DS started sleeping one stretch of 4-5 hours but he doesn't do it every night (altho he has done that 6 out of the past 10 nights).
  • When she was a couple of days old. I've got a dedicated sleeper on my hands. :-)
    Dear Bump: You suck.
  • Mine was already doing this at 2-3 weeks. I've had to wake him up to feed or else my boobs will explode! I'm too lazy to pump in the middle of the night.

  • i don't count 5 hrs or the occasional 7 hr stretch as STTN, so we're still waiting.
  • It depends on their size, the bigger they are the more food their stomach can hold so they sleep longer. Mine STTN at 5 weeks, he was sleeping 5 hours straight. He's now sleeping 6-7 hours. I'm keeping fingers crossed that this trend continues. They're supposed to sleep longer once they reach 11 lbs and have no digestive issues.

  • no where near...just try to sleep when your LO sleeps.
  • Mine just started sleeping a 5-6 hr stretch last week.
  • At about 7 weeks.  Now DD has the occasional 6 or 7-hour stretch and we're hoping it becomes more consistent.
