We have a sling for LO which I have not successfully used yet....combo of her maybe not liking it and me not knowing how to properly wear it I think. She loves to be held and I think she'd like a carrier with a little more structure then a sling. We were originally registered for the Baby Bjorn but didn't recieve it or buy it ourselves. Do you recommend that one or another one? Why do you like the one you're suggesting?
Opinions appreciated!
Re: Recommend your baby carrier please
typing one handed so i'll be brief
moby! holds baby against your body, can be pretied, very supportive until baby is around 20 lbs, affordable, babies love them, very easy after practing once or twice, they look stylish...i could go on
When DS was real little, I used my BabyHawk MeiTai carrier a ton and he loved it. It is pretty structured and kept him nice and cozy. When they are little, you can have their legs tucked up in the carrier and then as they get older you can have their legs out. I still use it at times and we have started to use it on our backs when we go for walks/hikes sometimes.
We do have a Bjorn too and DH would use it with him, but we tried not to keep him in it too long because it puts pressure on their groin.
I got a peanut shell sling and ended up not loving it. I never felt comfortable with Harrison in it. I always felt like he was being bent in half.
DH ended up getting us a Evenflo Snugli from Target on a whim one day. It is a cheaper baby carrier, but it has worked for our purposes.
I always wanted a Mai Tai but never ended up getting one.
We love our Moby. We have the Baby Bjorn and DS hates it. It's also controversial for being bad for hip development.
We tried a hotsling, and DS also hated it. I ordered a Mei Tai last week, so I will let you know how he likes it when it gets here
