Racing Heart - just nerves or something else?

The past few days I've felt like my heart was racing.  We had a bit of a scare regarding our LO size but things are looking good.  So despite the fact that that is no longer a concern my heart is still racing.

Is the baby pushing on something that could cause this to happen?  Any chance (fingers crossed) that this could be a sign of labor?

Maybe just wishful thinking, but I just want to know if anyone else has experienced this feeling.

 Thanks!

  • You have a lot of extra blood flow which makes your heart beat faster. I'm being treated for tachycardia b/c mine has been in the 120-130 range but anything around 90-100 is normal for a pregnant woman. If you're concerned go to one of the drug store BP machine and you can get your pulse rate.

  • As you get further along, your body works harder, and the heart rate goes up. My resting heart rate was 117 the other day. I'm still not used to it.
  • i get this which seems like everyday..starts w/ lower abdomenal pressure..then heart races w/ my breath getting taken away...

  • I would call your OB.  I'm sure that it is nothing but you may just want to check in to see what they say.  I was diagnosed with PVCs and SVT during this pregnancy so I can understand the annoyance of the rapid heart rate.  Good luck.

  • My heart feels like it's racing or pounding sometimes with my BH contrax. Not always, but sometimes. It usually subsides with the contraction.
