Any thought on this....I'm really f-ing p!ssed!!!
We have decided that I should get the swine flu shot...for both my safety and so that DD can have immunity once she is born. We have read up on how that shot is made and I am totally comfortable with it and wont feel like a guinea pig....BUT is HAS to be mercury free.
My OB - who I LOVE..isn't getting any and said I have to go through my primary. My primary is Lifetime Health...and they have their own OB dept...and they are basically telling me that I can't get it b/c I'm not an OB patient. They told me to call Children's which I did - and could only get ignorant secretaries that can barely speak proper english telling me "I dunno, we ain't got none here, you best keep callin places round the city."
So do I seriously need to switch to another OB for a week in order to get a GD shot??
Are any of the other pg ladies getting the shot? Does anyone know where I can get a merc free one? I'm so emotional - I can't take this stress!
Re: Preg and swine flu vaccine
I would call your local health department...they might have doses or at least know where you can go for it...
Sometimes I wish I didn't read about any of this stuff. But I really, truly believe in a link between some of the metals in vaccines and the rise in autism/ADD/ADHD/etc...these metals affect the brain on purpose - so the vaccine can adhere to the nervous system...so I just don't see how they can officially rule out a link...just because they haven't found it yet (I also believe this is just one of the factors - environment, preservatives in food...) But anyway...
It's like choosing between two "chances" - either the chance of getting the flu and maybe ending up in the hospital OR choosing to put metal in my body (and therefore DDs body) and the chance that may affect her down the line.
And I know what you mean...we have cousins expecting a LO in a few weeks...and how I wish I was due sooner!!!!
That would be great!!!! I didn't know that Walgreens would be doing swine flu...I've only heard that they are going to PCPs and OBs.
