Babies: 3 - 6 Months

Do u ever wake ur LO from nap?

My DD just slept for 3 hours and will probably be ready for another nap by 4:30; she generally only stays awake for 1 1/2 to 2 hours at a time.  The problem is that often her late nap turns into her STTN.  I mean, I'm not complaining if she wants to sleep from 5PM to 7AM, but that seems crazy.  Then last night she went down for her nap at 4:30 which turned into bedtime and she ended up waking up at 11:30PM.  That was the 1st time she woke in the middle of the night when doing this.  Do you think it would be worth it to wake her around 7 for a bath, bottle, and a real bedtime???

  • at 5 months i wouldn't wake her ...but yes if she wasnt to take a nap at like lets say 5:30 6pm ish and her normal bed time is 8pm.  Then i will wake her to like maybe take a bath if she was already fed.  then put her back to bed because if she goes to bed at the time i mentioned before  she will wake up in the middle of the night.  not to be fed or anything i just have to rock her back to sleep.

  • what a sleepy baby! connor always takes a nap around 7-730 and would make that his bedtime if i let him, but then he's up at 430, wide awake. i always let him take an hour nap or so. i wake him up between 8-830 and do his cereal, bath, jammies, bottle, and then back to bed around 9 for the rest of the night. i just feel like its good for him to have a steady routine. eventually im sure he will skip that last nap and then he'll know 8 oclock is time to wind down for a 9 oclock bedtime.

  • I will wake them if we have to go somewhere... Otherwise- i will only wake them if they sleep more than 1/2 hour after the other has eaten a bottle- so that they stay on the same bottle schedule - otherwise i'd be feeding babies all day and never be able to do antyhing else.
