hiccups means I'm pg?

ME: *hiccup* I've been getting the hiccups a lot lately. And they last for a really long time

Coworker: Uh-oh. What does that mean? Are you pregnant?

ME: Indifferent No, I don't think so. Not this month.

 

Just curious...is that an old wives tale or something? Or was she just making it up?

    If hiccups = pregnancy then I should have more kids than Michelle Duggar.  I get the hiccups at least 2 times a day.

    hmmm I got the hiccups bad last weekend during a girl's night.  I thought it was the drinking, but maybe I am pregnant!!! ha!

    Not sure if this is an old wives tale, but i laughed out loud at the thought of her saying this to you!

    Exactly.  I don't get hiccups a lot anymore but I did when I was younger.  

    I'm wondering if she/he is associating your hiccups with indigestion (my grandma used to hiccup when she had indigestion)...indigestion can be a pregnancy symptom.

    I've never heard that one before. It never stops amazing me how people feel like it's okay to imply that you may be pregnant every time you're a little tired or I guess have the hiccups.

    Hey, yeah! That rings a bell.  I think she just wants me to be pg as bad as I do Big Smile I had to try hard not to laugh at her.
