My IVF Consult and Injections class is this Friday...and I was wondering do I bring all my meds with me for the class? I feel kinda of silly hauling a big box through the front doors??? Or do I bring one of everything with me?? I'm going to call my nurse but I just wanted to run it by you guys first...
IVF Consult...any helpful questions I should ask??
Re: IVF Consult ?
Which clinic do you go to?
I didn't need to bring your meds with me. In fact, I didn't even have them yet. They have examples there and show you how to do mix them, use them, etc.
As for questions, I really didn't have a list, but asked a lot as we were moving through. GL!
I had a one on one injects class and my IVF nurse had all of the meds there - well not really the meds but examples to show how to use everything.
At your consult - I personally think money is the biggest thing to talk about. Your RE may not have your protocol yet so you might not be able to talk about it. But, one thing you need to know is exactly how much it will cost - what the flat fee includes, and when payment is due.
Good luck!!!
Dr. Charles Miller & Associates in Schaumburg on Golf Rd.
I go to the same RE as you, and I did not have to bring my meds in... but, that could be because I had already done an IVF prior (but with a different RE). But the nurse asked me several times during the meeting if I thought I had any questions about the meds... I was doing a few new ones, different mixing, etc, but I was fine.
The nurse did give me some CD's, so those might be helpful to you
Thanks! I'm considering switching clinics.
Interesting... I'm now def going to call my nurse and verify if I need to bring them in... I thought for sure she told me too, but all of you are stating you didn't have to....
As you can SVP goes to him as well... Its my first cycle with him but I really get a good vibe when I'm there and when I'm talking to him. Good Luck!!
we have our shot class on Wednesday and I don't even have my protocol so no meds yet.
When I went in for my IUI shot class I didn't bring anything either, so I am guessing that IVF is the same way.
As for questions, we had our first consult on Friday and at that meeting we discussed the risks (my RE said I have a high risk of OHSS, so I will be starting off on a low dose of stims and monitored more often) also we talked about how many embryos we would like to transfer and if we get lucky enough, do we want to freeze any embryos.
I think as the process goes we will have more questions.
Good luck!
So glad to see so many Illinois ladies!
Yay! Maybe we need a GTG???
I would totally be up for one!
Ditto!
Yes, yes! we definitely should
