Formula and baby poop question

So I know you're not really supposed to switch formulas all the time, but I have a bunch of samples and want to use them all.. so I went through and used all the milk-based.. then all the gentle/sensitive.. and now I'm left with the soy..I was also hoping one of these would help with her massive amounts of spit up, but none have.. I think I started the soy  yesterday morning.. possibly the day before..

Well Eve's diapers today have smelled AWFUL..not normal poop smell.. like a dead animal type of smell..  She also had some new veggies yesterday and today so it could be that too.. but I'm thinking its the formula.. Anyone else have this experience? Does this maybe indicate a problem with soy? She seems pretty fine otherwise..

    My son is allergic to milk proteins so I'm used to soy and his diapers have always stunk bad but there are some veggies that can make their poop and urine smell funny but I can't think of them off the top of my head right now.

    I'm no expert but I know for a fact that formula diapers smells about 200x worse than breastmilk diapers. It could be that mixed w. veggies.

    I am pretty sure I read that you should only use soy formula if baby can't tolerate milk.  The AAP actually put out guidelines about it not long ago.  I don't know much more, I really didn't have any need to look into it further.  Try Googling it, I am pretty sure you find the reason.  I know I have seen it more than once.  I give or trade my samples with other moms in our meetup playgroup.  But you can also just donate them to a food pantry (most churches have food pantries) so you can be sure they go to someone who really needs them.

    I just started giving Evan some formula. When I went to his pedi last week she told me not to give him the soy (I also had a sample can) I didn't bother to ask why?

    And Evan is only getting like 1 bottle of formula, if that a day.... gosh those diapers are nasty!
