this might be a DUMB question...but our seahorse turns off in less than 5 minutes...and it's rare that LO is sound asleep by then, so I'm always going in the nursery and turning it back on again. We looked for an adjustment button for timing inside but didn't see one.

Am I crazy to think I have a defective one?

Yeah, the only adjustment is the volume. I prefer our mobile which plays for 20 minutes.

I thought that mine had stopped after 5 minutes too, but it started up again and played for quite a while... weird.

Ours turns off after 5 min too. We don't use it as a soother though.

Nope, they are all programmed for just 5 mins. Even the description on the box says "5 mins of soothing blah blah..." DD loves it but only 5 mins makes no sense to me.
