Baby shoes are expensive!

Ben's feet are fat and wide, so it has been very hard finding cheaper shoes that fit well. So, I went to Stride Rite and got him those new SRT (sensory response technology) shoes. I really don't know if that makes them any better than others, but I spent $50. He could actually walk well in them for never walking in shoes before. I figure these are his first shoes that he will actually use, so I don't mind spending more. I don't think I've never had a $50 pair of shoes myself...except for my wedding shoes. lol

  • Lucy has the same feet, so hard to fit!

We do a lot of stride right as well, do you have a stride rite outlet near you?  I'd check around and look for one, save a ton of money on shoes they grow out of every three months.

  • See if you can find a stride right outlet. We have one near us, a drive but doable. I get his shoes for 20-30, not super cheap BUT cheaper than 50.
  • I think it's a tough call on baby shoes.  DD hasn't had a pair of "expensive" shoes yet, however, she will probably get some after these sneakers.  Striderite are super nice!  I do think one pair is great (and maybe easier to get away with for a boy, since their outfits are neutral color driven).  DD's  feet are super fat and the gymboree shoes seem to work great (outlets, under $10).  Velcro is a God send in this house.

We love cheapy walmart/Target shoes too!  I find the more velcro, the better.  Although, she did have Nikes (from a 2nd hand store) that were great!

  • Brady's therapist told us that Payless has the best shoes in terms of arch support.  The brand is Teeny Toes or Smart Fit, depending on the size.  We got some cute shoes for $14.99

  • We got Sadie a pair of stride rights and two pairs of Buster Browns and honestly, I will buy her buster browns forever. They're flexible in the soles like the Stride Rights and they give her good support and are reasonably priced. (she has long, narrow super skinny feet so opposite problem from you guys but still not easy to deal with!)
