I drive a 2003 Honda Accord coupe. It has 119,000 miles on it and it's paid off.
I looooooooove my car. Love love love. It's wee and sporty and fun and cute. And did I mention the best part - it's paid off! But with the baby arriving soon, I'd LOVE to have a four-door car. When she gets here, I'll take my husband's Highlander when I have the baby as her carseat just BARELY fits in my Accord.
We are very opposed to taking on another car payment, but I'd LOVE to have a Nissan Murano or a Honda CRV. Scott and I went to lunch yesterday and as I was leaving his parking lot I saw a Murano and a CRV parked next to each other, and my car lust hit me full-force.
What kind of car do you drive vs. what kind of car you'd like to drive?
Re: I have car lust
Toyota Sienna...
I lust a Range Rover... lol
I have a 06 Pontiac Vibe, RED! its paid off too!
I actually lust over my moms car which is a 09 Pontiac vibe. But hers is this really ugly purple.
I have a "cross over SUV" and I can't help but love how much room I have in it....its just so.dam.boring. LOL (an 05 Chrysler Pacifica)
I don't think I could ever go back to driving a car...I enjoy how much space we have in an SUV....it will be especially nice when baby comes and we are having to cart strollers around again.
my car lust is def for a Range Rover...DH promised me I would have one before my 30th bday (5 years from now) but i'll let you guys in on a lil secret.....I would be just as happy with a Chrysler Town & Country Mini Van....ZOMG! they are so cool...they have a TABLE...and 2 TVS!!!
just wait until your mommy-isms come in and you start carting your DC and all their friends around....you will then understand the joys of the XL SUV & Minivan hahaha
I'd also be thrilled with a 4-door accord. I'm all about some Hondas.
If we could clone my husband's Highlander, that would be good. It's got lots of room but it's not huge.
I drive a 03 Highlander...Not paid off
I totally want an new Higlander.... they are so nice!
Up to a month ago, I drove a 2003 Chrysler Sebring (to prove its not just an old person car - 5 Speed Manual, 6 cylinder, 3.0 L, leather interior, infinity speakers, power EVERYTHING, and a sunroof.) I LOVED MY CAR. But it was a two door, and bc of how cold it is in the winter DH wants me to have a remote start so I don't leave LO alone in the house to start the car, and there were quite a few mechanical issues that could not be figured out by 3 different mechanics. Oh, and it was a gas guzzler.
So, DH went out and bought me a 2009 Suzuki SX4. Roomy as can be on the inside. Because I'm only 4"10 we wanted a smaller SUV. Though I am not as in love with this car as my old car... it is perfect for the baby and the winter. Smooth ride, and cheap on gas! The payments match almost exactly to my old car, and we're actually saving a lot of money on insurance as well!
I have a 2002 Ford Focus ZX3, which is a 2-door hatchback. Yeah, the baby will just fit in the backseat, for now. No one else:)
We're going to get a Ford Fusion next year. Yay for having a Ford mechanic for a husband, makes upkeep very cheap.
Right now I have a 2001 Ford Focus.
It's alright, it gets good gas mileage and the carseat fits in the back.
However, it has 121K miles on it and DH thought I needed a newer car, so we went and bought a 2007 Jeep Compass yesterday
We are picking it up on Monday!! I can't wait
Just bought a Chevrolet Equinox which is a crossover suv. The first ever American made car I've ever purchased in my life and I went into it kicking and screaming. It is NOT to be overlooked!! Amazing gas mileage and the back row seat rolls back and forth so there is a ridiculous amount of space back there. We can fit our Chicco Keyfit 30, a notoriously "big carseat back there and the front seats can still RECLINE and go all the way back. Can't do that in many cars.
I'd LOVE the new Volvo SUV the XC60, but um, we pay for our cars in cash and since we don't have 40k laying around for a new car, it'll have to wait. :-)
I just bought (in March of this year) a 2009 Honda Pilot. I LOVE it.
I had an Accord before that which I absolutely loved, but when we found out I was pregnant with # 3, the Accord obviously wouldn't fit 3 carseats (since I'll have 3 under 3.5 years old). The Pilot can fit 3 carseats in the middle row, but also has a 3rd row seat that folds up/down. It's HUGE inside. Very safe and not bad on gas.
I drive our '06 Nissan Pathfinder, which I love, but my dream car would be an Audi A8. One of the doctors at my old job has one and everyday that I came to work and he was in the office I would practically drool just looking at it.
Of course I would never, ever, actually be capable of buying one unless we won the lottery. Even then I would still be hesitant to buy it because I would be afraid to actually take it out of the garage or let my children even look at it.
Last month my husband and I had a 07 Chevy Silverado lifted on 33" tires. I looked this truck, because we live in the country and I can go anywhere, but we decided that it was going to be very hard to get the baby in and out of it. So we sold the truck
and bought a 08 Ford Edge. I love it vehicle and it is so much easier for me to get in and out of. I'm so happy with this vehicle. Before we got the edge I lusted after one.
?
I LOVE MINI'S!!!?
DH: 31, no issues
4-6/2012 100mg of Clomid + trigger + IUI/TI = BFN
7/2012 150mg of Gonal-f + trigger + IUI = BFN
8/2012 Surprise unmedicated BFP!! Due May 8, 2013
We just bought a 2006 Subaru Tribeca - and were very nervous to take on another car payment but our 1997 GMC Jimmy just wasn't safe for a baby...We loved Murano's but they were so expensive and now we LOVE the Tribeca - it is basically a similar mini SUV - and it will be great for the baby as well!!
We just bought a CX-7 a few weeks ago and I love it!
We got the CX-9 last month, it is amazing! It was hard to choose between the 7 and 9 though, we just ended up getting a better deal on the CX-9 and it will be good when we end up with two more kiddos!
My DH and I share my 2003 Ford Focus. Our carseat fits okay, and the Britax Boulevard is a tight squeeze... but it gets good gas mileage... It has over 110, 000 miles right now... so we're praying it holds out a little longer.
My Dad drives a 2001 Geo Prism (which is also a toyota corolla I believe, just under different....something). When he gets a newer car (sometime in the next year) we'll be getting that one as well.
I crave anything bigger than a focus. I would LOVE a Suzuki SL7, Honda CRV.... Anything like that.
Hubby and I just bought a 2007 Jeep Compass last fall....LOVE it....bought with the intention of us trying for a baby in the next few months....if I could have ANY vehicle, I would probably have one of the newer Volvo wagons/SUVs.
