Ever since I left my ex I have been staying with friends (about 7 weeks), yesterday I got the keys to my new apartment. I still have to get my furniture in there but I am really happy that I have my own place now. I feel like I can really get ready for the baby. It is only a 1-bedroom because I needed the least expensive place I could find so baby won't have his/her own room. Still it will be nice to have my own space and not have to answer to anyone, this is the first time I will be truly on my own (no roommates, husband or family members) at least until baby is born.
The one thing I am wondering is that if I stay in this apartment until my enlistment in the navy is up the baby will be two and a half, does it seem unrealistic for me to share a room with him/her for the first two and a half years?
Re: Got my own place!
I don't really think it's unrealistic. Toddlers don't really spend a lot of time in their rooms anyway, it'll be his/her nap/sleep place and the living room or whatever can be your play place and relaxing place.
Also, con-freaking- grats!!
First off, Congrats!! Thats fantastic! Second, it might be. I guess it would depend on their personality. I personally wouldn't want to because I know I wouldn't sleep well and I like my own space. Others, that might work out great. Either way GL!!

congrats on the apartment!!
I am currently sharing a room with my LO and my lease is up at the end of Feb - she will be nearly 6 months old them. The worst thing I've noticed - at least as a baby - is that ever little grunt, cough, squeek i'm up and checking on her. The same way, I can't let her just cry it out. when my lease is up, i will be looking for a 2 bedroom if for no other reason than a place for all her stuff!
i should also say though we don't co-sleep. the room is very large and we have "split it" so her crib is on the complete opposite side of the room from the bed - like 10-15 feet and we don't use a bassinet or cradle. there has only been 1 night where she hasn't slept in the crib - and it was because she had a nasty diaper rash and it hurt her to lay down so she slept on me in a recliner.
