2nd Trimester

Has anyone gone to L&D for lack of movement?

I've been up since about 8am PT and I haven't felt the baby move yet. She was going crazy at around 3am, but since then I haven't noticed anything.

What will they do there, just monitor the baby? Ever since I read about the poor girl who lost her full term baby I've become paranoid about movement. I just know as soon as I get to the hospital she'll start moving and they'll think I'm an idiot.

  • Did you mean to post this on third tri? Just curious.

I personally would not go to L&D at this point because I know inconsistent movement is normal.  If it had been days since I'd felt him, I'd definitely call my doc.

ETA: just saw your second post.

  • I've accidentally posted something in 3rd tri and not 2nd OOPS. Personally if you just felt her at 3am I wouldn't go she might just be sleeping. I know for a few of the girls on here their doctor said if its 24 hours straight of no movement than go.

I know you are going to go RP this in 3rd tri, but PLEASE don't listen to this advice! Honestly, nothing against this poster, but if you feel that something is off with movement, please go. I am sure everything is perfectly fine, but there are so many stories about women thinking that they shouldn't go and then losing their baby when they could have saved them. They will not think you are an idiot! Just my 2 cents ;)

ETA: She's completely right about inconsistent movement, but this sounds like it's not like how your baby's moving patterns usually are. Like I said, I'm sure everything is fine; I'm not trying to freak anyone out, but better safe than sorry, right?

  • I know this is late and you didn't mean to post on this board but I hope either you felt movement or you went in.  At this point you DO NEED TO WORRY!!!!
