  I'd say TaMARah, but the only people I've ever known with this name all go by Tammy.

  I've only known it to be pronounced Ta-MAR-uh.  Tam-a-ruh sounds REALLY awkward to me.

  Think of names that are spelled similarly: Amara isn't AM-a-ruh and Samara isn't SAM-a-ruh... so why would Tamara be TAM-a-ruh?

  That's my name and I pronounce it TAM-a-ruh. I do not like it when people pronounce it Ta-MARE-ah AT ALL. I only have heard of one other Tamara that pronounces it Ta-MARE-ah...all the Tamaras I've met pronounce it the same way I do. I would say that's by far the more common pronounciation, but it could be regional too. I love Tamara, but people call me Tammy all the time.
