Has anyone purchased their furniture from JcPenney? If so, what do you think of the quality. I have only been looking online and it looks pretty nice, but I have never seen their baby furniture in the store. I was just curious if anyone had any opinions. Thanks.
Re: JcPenney Furniture
I agree with pp who said it is not forever furniture, but fine for a kid's room. We've had our crib, changer, and hutch for 2.5 years, and they are great. The drop rail on the crib never went down smoothly, but we never used that feature anyway. The drawers on the changer have dovetail joints, rather than being stapled, so that is a sign of better quality. The back piece of the hutch is more like plywood--pretty cheapy, but it looks fine and we've had no issues with it. The platform of the crib is plywood vs. a spring platform, which concerned me at first, but it was never a problem--I certainly don't think DD ever thought it was uncomfortable! Crib is very sturdy. Drawers and cabinet on the changer open and close very smoothly.
Overall, I was very pleased with the quality of the set for the price we paid. Shipping costs are a PITA, but I just kind of factored those in to the total cost when comparing it to other sets we looked at, and I still think it was very worth it. The set will certainly last us through 2-3 kids, and still make a nice set for resale.
(I think ours was called "Bella." Not sure if they are still selling it, as we got it a few years ago.)
We've got the Tori collection (crib, dresser, changer combo, & hutch) and I'm beyond impressed with the quality. The crib is solid hardwood and incredibly sturdy. The other pieces aren't solid wood, but are still excellent quality.
We got it in the espresso, and it's gorgeous. Love, love, love it.
