Funny or not nice

Over the past few years I've received emails from a grandma in Utah who thinks my email address is one of her grandkids. I've told her she has the wrong address yet it continues. I even replied all once to tell her hoping one of the kids/grandkids would see to it she took me off. She asks for submissions for the family newsletter and then sends me the newsletter. Nice family!

I'm toying with the idea of sending an update on my family next time she asks. See if I make the newsletter or if I finally get kicked off the list.

I have no idea why I haven't blocked her in case you're wondering.

Definitely funny. If you've told her several times and her kids/grandkids are aware and not doing anything, she's fair game.

I am planning another calendar this year, and would also like to make a list of everyone in the family, with their birth date and place, grouped by families, so everyone will know who all the kids are. I would appreciate getting pictures for it by Nov. 15th. Thanks!

Props to her for being so computer/internet literate! I think if it was just her, then it would be mean, but since you've essentially notified the whole family, it's funny. You could even include in your email, "Since you've adopted me into your family by email, and i've had the pleasure to witness all your family's recent events, i thought i'd share mine." Then your picture, etc. That way, she has another chance to exclude you, and can include it if she thinks it's cute/funny. Full disclosure -- you won't be taking any advantage.

No I wouldn't do it. A sweet old lady, probably struggling to learn the computer stuff anyway... I'd just tell her again that you're not who she thinks you are.

I'd agree with you except preston said this has been going on for years.

If someone doesn't know how to work email after several years, they shouldn't have a computer at all.

I like the suggestion that someone said to say "Since you've adopted me into your family..." - and I'd cc the whole list again.

Yes, I would definitely respond. I agree since it's been quite some time plus you've replied to all, and I like approaching it with a sense of humor about being adopted into their family. Perhaps if you include your address you'll get birthday and Christmas gifts in the mail now that you'll be on the family calendar?
