2nd Trimester

1 hour glucose test

So I passed (yay for me!) but I was wondering... I didn't eat before it and the doctor said "good, you'lll be sure to pass then"... Mine was 110 they said they like it under 130... so if I ate, I would have failed? Does that mean there's still a possibility I could have it?

Re: 1 hour glucose test

  • I wouldn't worry about it as long as you passed;)

  • I wouldn't worry. I was told not to eat breakfast the day I go in and not to eat sugary foods the night before unless I want to fail.
  • I'm going in 4 weeks (I'm at risk bc of my dad.) They told me I COULD eat but it's best not to.

I don't think if you ate you would have failed, they have different scales for fasting and nonfasting.

  • They want you to be fastiung for at least 2 hours before you take the test. If you did have GD, you would have failed if you didn't eat breakfast. Congrats for passing!!

  • My doc said to eat as I normally would, just steer away from sugar the night before/day of...My test is at like 2:00pm, so it's not like I could fast before...Now I am wondering???

  • Mine told me to just eat breakfast but if I came in eating 2 candy bars I would most likely fail.
  • Congrats on passing your GD test.  With my 1st pregnancy, I had to fast but with the 2nd they told me to eat as usual.  I passed the first time, I hope I'm lucky again this time around.
