Hey girls.
I posted the other day about my Big US disappointment. We were the last patients in the office, it was supposed to last an hour, and they were running over an hour late. They spent less than 30 minutes with us and rushed us out of the office to close. My pictures weren't very good. Hopefully they got all of the measurements and stuff they needed, but they said "Sorry the baby's in a bad position" and we didn't find out the sex. I was pretty disappointed, and after much thought... I sent an e-mail to the imaging place today. The office manager called me, and asked me to come back in to do another one free of charge. She said she totally understood my frustration, and that with babies you HAVE to be patient, and it doesn't seem like that happened. They can get me in this evening and now for the big question....
HOW DO I GET THIS BABY TO MOVE?
Anyone have another chance US and do something different?
What did you drink? How much caffeine?
THANKS A BUNCH!!!
Re: HELP- Another chance on BIG US!
My baby was sleeping, so we had some trouble getting a look. The U/S tech had me move to my side for a minute, he put some pressure and "wiggled" my side, then I rolled back onto my back, a little more wiggling, and we finally got a peek.
I also heard that OJ, maybe some sugary foods, and an empty bladder can help.
Good luck!!
I find baby is most active after I've had a full meal (about 20-40 minutes after dinner).
And, when I was pg with #1 and he stopped moving, the hospital fed me tons of juice to get him squirming again. It worked really quickly (20 minutes or less).
No need for caffeine! Good luck today, I hope baby cooperates for you.
My baby was also in bad a position. I asked the tech if I should drink some apple juice or something, and she said that the baby was moving plenty, but just not in a good position. I think the tech/doctor just really need to be persistant. Towards the end of mine the tech was shaking the wand on my belly, and I watched as the baby was bouncing up and down on the screen...
You may not want to have any caffeine b/c if they are planning to get the heart rate and look at the baby's heart, it will affect those results.
I find that baby is more active after eating food or drinking juice. Also, try to sit in a position that may be uncomfortable for the baby right before the u/s. Our baby doesn't like it when I lean forward for too long.

Thanks ladies for all of your advice. I'm torn on the Caffeine thing. I just don't want to feel the disappointment I felt on Monday night.
You all gave me good anti-caffeine advice. I really appreciate it. I'm just going to keep praying that the baby cooperates today. I'm getting more nervous for this one than for the first one. haha
