Ok, I have decided to drop the early AM feeding and do the paci thing to let him sleep. Last night was the first night he woke up at 4am, then 4:20am, then 5:30am, then again at 6:30am. He was screaming like he was hungry and did not eat for about 8hrs. So curious for those who have done the sleep training at night to get them to STTN how long did it take for your LO to finally STTN with out waking? I'm just wondering if it will take about 4days a week?! I know the last time I tried this it was always the 3rd day that was the hardest to over come. Let me know your thoughts...
Re: Curious about sleep training...
4 months is too early...also.... to sleep train your child.
my baby stopped STTN at 4 months and is still waking up to eat. i would NEVER deny my child food if he wasn't soothed with a paci or rocking. these are his cues to tell you he's HUNGRY.
This this and this. Your baby is NOT going to sleep later if he's HUNGRY. It blows my mind that people don't get this.
Sounds like your LO was starving. WHY would you need feed him?
When you say the last time you tried this, the 3rd day was hardest? You have sleep trained already before this?
Agree. You should only just offer the paci if just offering the paci satisfies the LO. DD will wake up in the night sometimes and as soon as we pop the paci back in she is out (well honestly, she never really wakes up because her eyes aren't open, but you get the picture). Some kids need that night feeding longer than others.
Sorry I meant to say he wasn't hungry.
I made a correction, he wasn't hungry when he was crying.. the last time i tried this was he was about 2 months but he was already showing that he was able to sleep for 7 hours with out waking and did it for 2 days straignt the 3rd day, he went back to 5 hours and i tried to sooth him with a paci and it didn't work, so i feed him. so im just curious how long it took, bc i do think he's ready
you can not and SHOULD not sleep train at 2 months old.
PLEASE try to work with your child....
