3rd Trimester

Really I might lose it.. SO sick of no sleep!

Ok.. I am gonna vent.. so please let me..

Since week 26 I haven't slept.. Litterally.. and I know SO many of you are going through the same thing.. but I have had my SI joint poppoing out of place, Sciatica, and periformis syndrome... all of which started at week 7 and got worse by week 26, was treated through Physical therapy and felt great around week 32..

Now.. I can't sleep again.. either my lower back hurts so damn much.. rolling over is uncomfortable, my hips hurt, or I have insomnia.. now I have a sinus infection with an ear ache and I am so damn sick of it.. Honestly.

I can't stand the comments "Just wait until your baby comes.. you'll never get any sleep
but honestly- at least I will be up for a much different reason.. and the sleep I will get will be more than I am getting now

I have had 3 nights of NO sleep this week.. NONE>. up all night and I am ready to cry.. really.. ready..

These last 2 weeks suck.. I am so done. So ready.. SO ready...

  • I'm so sorry. I've struggled with insomnia for years, and it totally sucks.

  • It is really hard and the comments people make are so insensitive.  I know that I'll be up with a baby soon, that's why I want to sleep now!!  Do they really think I'm that clueless?

I've had some bad pelvic/pubic bone pain, sciatica pain, and then caught a nasty cold on top of it all.  I'm a mess.  Talk to your doctor about what meds you can take and how much trouble you're having sleeping.  My OB actually prescribed me some pain meds that I only take at night to help sleep and they do help.  I don't take them every night, but I do when I'm in a lot of pain.  He also helped me figure out what OTC stuff I could take that would help with my symptoms and help me sleep.

I'm still not getting a ton of sleep and am usually up a couple of hours a night, at least, but at least it's better.  I hope you get some rest very soon.

  • I am right there with you.  It's been awful.  My DH and DS are sleeping soundly all night and I am roaming the halls.  Even my dogs are snoring.

  • I can totally understand insomnia during third tri, because your body just gets really uncomfortable. I haven't been able to sleep since around week 16, I have no idea why it started so early. I just feel bad because most nights I'm tossing and turning so much I end up waking up DH.
  • I've been in the same boat the last couple of weeks.  Hang in there!
