At your baby's age, you cant be too picky about when they sleep. And there really isnt a nap that is too long for this age either. If your DC wakes when hungry, you have nothing to worry about.

So, I am usually a proponent of letting LO sleep but yeah, I would totally wake him up and try and feed him/keep him up for a few hours that way he'll be ready for bed later.
I do try and do this with DD in the evening. If she's asleep for several hours I will wake her up around 6-7PM and get her to stay up for a while before bed at 9PM.
