S/O smoking..what do you think..?

We live with IL's and they do foster care...two of the boys smoke. I never noticed it before but I am sitting near him right now and I can smell the smoke..its giving me a headache. Is this bad for DD to be around. She is never around second hand smoke..but the fact that I can smell it grosses me out for her to be around it!! Is it really bad for her?! UGHHH I need to get out of this house for so many reasons!!!

    if you can smell it, she is breathing it in. And whatever those boys use, touch, sit on, etc is also covered in 3rd hand smoke so if you use any of those things then she is also getting that smoke around her. ick.

    Yes, it's called third hand smoke. Obviously it is the least dangerous form, and I'm not sure there are actually studies about the effects of it. But it's just logical to me that it would be dangerous. I (very stupidly) started smoking again when DS was about 1 month and I always wash my hands and change clothes when I come inside and I have a certain jacket that I wear outside when I'm smoking and make sure he never comes in contact with it. Even though I take all of these precautions I still worry that it may have some effect on him and I feel really guilty. It was so stupid of me to start again.

    ew..ok I am definitely going to bring it up with pedi at her next appt. If DH hears it from the pedi he will take it seriously. I hate that smell..I feel really bad that she is around it. I never realized it until all this cig talk!!
