I hope im not the only one but i feel sooo blessed to have the in laws that i do! They are amazing in every aspect. :)

Re: Do any of you LOVE your in laws?

  • My ILs are alright, they are very nice and they just love Jacob.

But I absolutely ADORE my aunt and uncle -in laws.  They live about 5 minutes away and are very positive influences in our lives.

  • i love them...but i wouldn't say they are amazing in every aspect.....We do have a lot of differences.  I wouldn't say with my FI but with my MI definitely

  • Nope.  I hate them and DH does too.  Sad.
  • I do.

Sure, we have our differences...but it's not unlike my relationship with my own parents. I lucked out big time - I have two sets (divorce situation), and love all of them.

  • I do, but its been straining living with them!! I want to move so bad so I can have a good relationship with them (mostly MIL) again!
  • I LOVE my FIL & 2nd wife. I also LOVE MIL's 2nd husband... I suppose I do love my MIL because she raised an amazing son and she really loves Ro, etc... but she is completely selfish and manipulative and I do not like it at all.

This! I feel exactly the same way. They're so good to our kids too.

  • My MIL and late FIL are/were awesome and MIL adores DS!

  • I love my MIL. My FIL hates me and says I steal DS and DH away from him lol. I guess he forgets the fact that he lives an hour away and I barely even get to spend time with DH because he works FT and goes to school. He doesn't exactly have much free time. So basically, I'm not too fond of him because he always blames me for random things that are out of my control.
  • I love FIL. The only problem with him is that he keeps giving Ry "tastes" of food and dipped his pacifier in sweet tea.

I don't hate MIL, but I don't really like her either. She does a lot for us, but she also does a lot of things to make me mad. Sometimes I think she does them on purpose so I ignore her.

  • Yes, I am closer to them than my own family.

    Pretty much this .

  • I do - I'm very lucky.  It kind of worries me to read so many posts where people hate theirs - hopefully C's future partner likes me.  (I guess I'll just try not to be crazy, which should help.)  Both my mom and my sister dislike their ILs, which makes me sad, but I understand their reasons.
  • I love them most of the time - the only thing I don't like is when my MIL tells me the way I should do something, I kindly explain to her why we choose to do things the way we do, and then she looks at me like I'm a complete idiot and don't know what I'm talking about.

And, they have an 8-year-old daughter who is a great kid as long as they're not around - but she knows she can get away with murder when they're there, so she's a total bratty demon child.  And then MIL has the nerve to tell me how to raise my son.

Luckily they live several hundred miles away from us and we only see them about twice a year.

  • I can't complain, but they annoy me now that DS is here.  I LOVED them before him though.
  • love love love my inlaws!  they stayed with us for 10 days after ds was born and i don't think we could have survived if they didn't.  i'm more comfortable with them than my own parents sometimes. they are seriously saints!

  • I love, love my in laws :) They are amazing and I am truly blessed.  Love my parents as well, both hubby and I are very lucky to have wonderful parents who love and support us...and love their adorable granddaughter :)
  • I PPH my ILs!  Especially my MIL.  Not only is she very thoughtful and giving, but she's very respectful of my wishes (both related and not related to DS).  Even if she disagrees with me, she'll abide my decisions.  I can't ask anything more!
  • Nope, definitely no love lost there! I go through spurts where I try really hard to like them but now dh has given up on them so I have too.

Diagnosed with autism this year and doing great!
  • Not really. Things have never been good with my IL's and are even worse now that DS is here because they are constantly wanting to come by at the last minute and refuse to take no for an answer. ?DH had a long talk with them a few days ago so we shall see if things get better. ?They are not very nice to me. ?They ask me to get out of pictures that are being taken, sometimes don't even speak to me, ask me to call them Ms. and Mr., which I just think is rude, and don't respect the fact that DH and I are DS's parents, not them. ?Good for you ladies that have good relationships. ?It would make life easier if we could at least get along when we see each other.
