hi all....
could you fill me in on the typical timeline for a long lupron (standard) ivf cycle starting from bcps? Does it take about 50-60 days total?
i think af will show today or tomorrow, so if I have any hope of doing a pre-Christmas cycle, I would have to start bcp with this af right?
Otherwise, I would just have to take my bcps with December AF so I could do a January/Feb ER? do I have this right?
Re: typical timeline for an ivf cycle?
Usually you have:
2-3 weeks BCP
1 week BCP and Lupron
1 week just Lupron
7-13 days of stimming
trigger
36 hours later ER
3-5 days later ET
Hope that helps.
that does - so I think i calculated right then - i would have to start at this af to have ER/ET before Christmas....
I would be sure to double check with your clinic - some close their IVF labs down around the holidays. Just something to verify before setting your mind to something, you know?
Does this mean you went with Dr. B?
I'm leaning that way. He said that he did not shut down over the holidays. They are the newest clinic on the Attain Shared Risk plan and we are thinking of that route - BUT - they don't have all their stuff together yet and since we had a late loss, we want to know ALL the contingencies before paying that much upfront.
I tried to get the fine print from Integramed but so far all I got was the party line (advertisement) about how you get a refund or a baby so it's all good....
If I called with AF (I feel like it is coming but haven't started bleeding yet) and they said they could not get me in by Christmas, I would definitely go to Dr. S for a cycle or two and then get back Dr. B's queue for early 2010. It also depends on how his staff treat me when I call to get info for the cycle and if they are organized - at the consult, Dr. B said they would explain in more detail once the cycle started but we'll see.
Sometimes I think we should wait until January anyway and try a cycle or two with Dr. S first (and more testing) but DH is really busy when the new semester starts so it is easier for him to be with me through this in Nov/Dec.
and as much as everyone tells me nothing will change in 3 months I just think that it is going to just get hella worse...i mean, no one would have thought that I would get pg with twins on 50 mg clomid first try 12 months ago and then take so long to get pg again (or not be able to)....
my mom was already 2 mo pg with my brother by this point after delivering me at full-term with a c-section (compared to my loss) - sheesh
thanks - i love the calculator -
but this would put my er/et on top of thanksgiving....i would have to ensure their office is open (no matter what the doc told me in passing)....
They can probably adjust the BCP period to make sure you won't ER/ET when they are closed.
that's great, thanks for posting!
