Midwife recommendations-HELP!!!

Hello! I'm 9 wks pregnant with my second child and am looking for a new midwife clinic in the TC area. Are there any recommendations out there? I'm also interested in hearing about places that you would NOT recommend!

It would be extra helpful to know at which hospital they deliver!

Thanks so much for your help!

This is a good link about it and a good site to post your questions.  Check out the links below your post, too.  There has been a lot of discussions here about that.

  • I delivered my first son at Fairview Riverside with the midwives there. My favorite midwife was John Eads, CNM. Fabulous guy all through my pregnancy and he was on call to deliver my son. I highly recommend him.

  • I go to Generations Women's Health Center in Shoreview and rotate between the 4 midwives at each of my appts. I've been very happy with the clinic and the midwives so far. They deliver at St. John's and St. Joe's. The nice thing about the Generations is that you will for sure have one of those 4 midwives with you during labor/delivery. A friend used Healtheast midwives and she was happy with them but since they have different clinics with midwives (and they all rotate on-call) she had a midwife help her deliver who she hadn't met before (she was happy with her though).

  • We switched from my OB (whom I had gone to for years for regular womanly care) to the North Metro Midwives. They deliver at HCMC and North Memorial. There are 3 in the clinic and they are all SUPER friendly, funny, and personable! (Not to mention knowledgable.) One of them will be at our birth and they have good relationships with OBs at both hospitals. We felt super comfortable with them from the start and couldn't be any happier!

  • I also love North Metro Midwives. I cant say enough great things about them. This is my fourth child with them. Great! Great! Great!
