I'm so excited for his birthday party!
I am doing a bug theme --- and I just booked a Critter Caravan. While it's not all bugs, it works.
They bring a chinchilla, hedge hog, angora rabbit, ball python, lizard and hissing cockroaches (which they do a race with). They come for 50-60 minutes, educate on the animals and the kids get to hold all of them.
Joey is going to freak out --- definitely taking the video camera out for this one!
Re: Joey is going to FREAK OUT!
It's $200 for the 50-60 minutes. Which I thought was reasonable, since they bring the animals and all. I can't imagine it's easy to corral 15 kids and 6 wild animals!
But Joe felt it was expensive. So who knows --- I'm usually off on these things.
I mean, how much less could they possibly charge?? They are about 45 minutes from us so it's about 3 hours total (with the travel).

oooohhhh that sounds like a lot of fun!
By the way I swear I saw Joe's twin riding a harley today on my way to Michelle's PT lol!
$200 seems high at first, but there's a lot that goes into that kinda work, so I guess it's not too bad.
I had planned an awesome/cute buggy bash for DS's 2nd bday, but he got sick and we had to cancel it. I saved all the decorations and I'll be doing it next year.
I will most likely be doing the dirt cakes.
And then also a big cake that is fudgy and oreos (my SIL has the recipe).
And I want to make SOMETHING (I was thinking cupcakes) with the bug pan that I bought (has beetle, butterfly, ladybug and ??? <--- can't remember?!) PIN posted pics of her bug stuff she made in it and I ordered it.
So we might have quite a few desserts -- unless I can think of a "main" dish to make in the bug pan. Is quiche not cool to serve in a bug shape at 4:30 for dinner?!?!
I'm going to need that recipe for the fudgy oreo cake!
What about pizza in the pan?
Sounds neat and gross...I wouldn't want to be there. I bet my son would love it though...
I think the price is okay.
