Does anyone wear aprons when tey cook/bake?

I've been looking at little girl aprons for Willow, to go with her play kitchen for her birthday - and if you go to etsy, MY GOODNESS!  There are some cute aprons out there....in my size!

But I've never worn an apron - of course I've never really cooked/baked, but maybe I'm missing something?  Some of them are just too cute to resist.  Butfor $28 a pop (and shipping) will I use it enough?

  • I used to every time I would bake, but I havent baked anything for awhile. I loved it, then I didnt have to grab a towel for every little thing.

  • I keep telling DH that if he lets me buy one I'll learn to bake!!  He doesn't buy it though.  LoL
  • I bake a lot and usually don't. In the end, I always wish I would have though. If they're cute and you like them, get one! I think if I had a cute apron, I'd wear it more often. I just have my ugly pampered chef denim one, it's so hideous to me that I feel like I should burn it, except that I'm required to wear it at shows. ;-) You should post some links to some cute ones! I bet there are more of us that might be interested in purchasing one now that you've brought it up.

  • I do sometimes, especially if I anticipate what I'm making is going to be really messy.  DH makes fun of me for wearing one, though, so that's why I don't more often.
  • I wear only an apron :)  J/K.  I have started recently because of what Leanne said.  And I think kids looks ADORABLE in aprons.  Right now DS wears one of mine and he trips on it so I'll check out ETSY, or are they all girly?

  • I should!  I'm so messy.

  • I do because I tend to get flour all over the place when I bake.  I also keep a dry dishtowel flung over my shoulder at all times so I can wipe my hands as needed.

I usually get my aprons at the outlet mall.  It's super cheap and they have cute designs there.  Do you have an outlet mall by you?

  • I bought one from Anthropologie a few years ago and my bf made one for me a couple Christmases ago.  They are hanging in my pantry and usually come out once a year during my big Christmas cookie bake-athon.
  • I do but I'm a really messy baker. I make my own but sometimes those ones on etsy just call to me. One of these days I'll break down and get a Jesse Steele appron (soooo lovely!).
  • A friend of mine has an Etsy shop, Made by Molly and she makes great aprons. She's on her honeymoon right now, but will be back Saturday. She could totally make a little apron for Willow.

  • When I'm at home, making a regular dinner I don't.  If I have a big day of cooking or baking planned I do.  When I'm working with my aunt in the catering kitchen, I always wear one.

  • I wear mine all the time, especially if I'm baking. I sent my sister one for Christmas last year, she loved it, and uses it all the time too.

    I got hers from https://thehiphostess.com/store/Default.asp

They're spendy, but so cute! You can sign up for e mail to get discount codes. They have little people aprons, and matching towels too.

  • I can't believe it never dawned on me to wear one. duh!

  • I wear one and I love it. I'm thinking of upgrading though since the one I made is getting old (pretty easy patter even for me with no skills). I still have the apron my granny made me when I was ten and my little sister would wear it while we baked together. I'm going to save it for Emmeline and continue the tradition.

  • I rarely cook (and don't bake very often, either) but i almost always wear an apron when i do.  Otherwise, i ruin my clothes.  I'm pretty clumsy.  I also tuck a tea towel into my pocket/belt to wip my hand on becaues i absent-mindedly wipe it on my pants/skirt otherwise.  I'm kind of a mess in the kitchen : /

  • My husband is funny, he thinks it so sexy when I am baking and wearing an apron. I guess it is true when they say a way to a mans heart is through food. I don't like the one I have I may start to look for a new one. Kiah always wears hers when she helps me cook and she loves it. We got it at Kohls last year.

  • I normally do not wear one.  But there was a cute Marseille apron at Williams Sonoma that I bought (after seeing the movie Julie & Julia).  And my mother-in-law got me black with white polka dots and roosters apron-gotta love that this past Christmas.

  • I do for big cooking - like dinner parties, holidays, or general baking.  For everyday dinner I never do.

There is a woman who sells cute aprons like these at bazaars around Christmas time. I've seen her the last 2 years at the Renton one.
