3rd Trimester

When does baby start gaining 1/2lb a week?

I know it's at the end. I just don't remember at what point that starts. I'm wondering how much bigger this five pound bowling ball in my stomach might get. Thanks.

Of course I know that u/s measurements can be off. This guy is measuring about ten days early and has his fathers head and stomach.

Re: When does baby start gaining 1/2lb a week?

  • I believe they say that happens in the last 4 weeks so starting at 36 weeks.  Mine is also measuring big but I am having a C-section at 37 weeks for pre-eclampsia so she won't be as big as if she went the full 40 weeks

  • I was told the last month or so. That is an average, so it is hard to say exactly.
  • My peri said on Tuesday that they start gaining 1/2 pound a week at 32 weeks
  • I was told 32 weeks too. Apparently we gain about a pound per week but half goes to baby.

  • 32w? Holy shiit. My son was 6lbs 5oz. This kid is going to be a toddler. I'm having a repeat section so it's not like I have to push him out. But still. I like the tiny little babies. They don't stay like that long.
