My Ob clinic didn't get the thimerosol free flu shots in yet and I don't want to get the other one. Anyone have suggestions on where I can find the thimerosol free shot?
I was at my OB for an appointment on Tuesday and asked her about the thimerosol free shot and she said just to get the regular one (which they happened to be out of!) My OB got the regular one and is pregnant. So now I just need to get back in and get the flu shot. Maybe this has been discussed, but have you all decided about getting the H1N1 flu shot?
I would feel better getting the thimerosol free shot since the regular one with thimerosol has 20x more mercury than the recommend amt. pregnant women should have. I won't be getting the H1N1 shot.
I'm not sure if you got your flu shot already but FWIW I was a with a group of physicians who were talking about the flu shot today. They stated that the thimerosol flu shot has less mercury then a can of tuna.

Most clinics don't even use the thimerosol shot, but i don't know about places like target, etc. however if i were pregnant and it was getting the thimerosol shot or none at all i would protect my baby and get the shot. Do it soon if you want it, as there is already a shortage in a lot of places. I work at the Mayo Clinic and we have very few left already and only can give them to high risk people until the next shipment gets here in over a month.
